Back in January, I got an email from one Brenda Burville, who works at the Indigo Books store in Burlington, Ontario, asking if I'd consider coming to do a presentation at the store. I said I'd love to and she set about getting her manager, Tara Hempey, to pick up the ball and run with it - which she certainly did.
So, today I did a couple of presentations at the Indigo Books store on Brant St. and it was a great experience.
They had me set up right in the middle of the store with a screen, projector and a little sound system and Tara's friend Shawn Trotter graced us with a few tunes at the end of each presentation.
At my suggestion, they set up a rack near the presentation space with not only my book but also John Vaillant's "The Golden Spruce", John English' award winning "Trudeau" biography as well as books on Rocket Richard, Lucy Maud Montgomery and John Ware.
At the end of the second presentation, Tim O'Driscoll came up to get a book signed with his son Liam and they took a few pictures. I'm proud to say that Liam has created a poster using some of his pictures along with the poster Indigo created for the event and it now features prominently on his teen-den wall of fame!
